Character line-up for zombie dad:

The final boards are timed in the leica, so I figured no point in posting.

These next ones were done for a group assignment. With the boards timed to music "Catnipping Greens". The first couple cat drawings are nice.

Catnipping Boards Continued...

Bear Story 1/2

This is my first storyboard project. The premise had to be an unwanted bear. So I made this.

Muzzle Lip Synch - feat. Jack Black

I have wanted to animate Jack Black for a while now. So I guess mission accomplished!

Maybe next time, he'll be laying down a fresh track just for me. :D
Oh, and this is going to get fixed up, and cleaned and maybe coloured with all the trimmings.

It's been a long time coming 1/3

This blog post is rather large by my standards. The blogger only lets me do 5 images per post, so I had to break it up.

So the whole first post is dedicated to my new storyboard project. I designed a western for character design class. If you don't know the story already, you can probably figure it out by the poses of the characters and their little blurbs. If not, you'll just have to wait til it's done being boarded.

It's been a long time coming 2/3

More designs :D.

This first set it kinda a highlight for me. As I got more and more tired of the repetitive procedure to use the pen tool properly, I started cheating by using the polygon lasso. Eventually I made up my mind I could just draw stuff with that tool, and so I made these animals. I plan to do a lot more cause they're fun, stress relieving, and get me out of my designing niche.

This was a quick colour test of the orangutan, before I even finalized his design.
His rotation. I drew poses for him too, but they're too ugly to post.
His grumpy friend...
... and his poses.

It's been a long time coming 3/3

These are all various paintings/layout works.

This first one is not my line work, but I sat down and used the pen tool for too long to not post it. The colour choices were mine, if you were wondering.
These next two we're done over a month ago, but they're a nice way to end off the orangutan character.

this last one was a pan background, for the little girl running. I really just like that fat lizard

Why am I posting failure?

Reading week has started. And I thought the blog needed some loving. So I have some treasures for you to view. I was going to scan some good stuff, but the school had a fire alarm, so I didn't get time. Enjoy it anyways:

24 hour (really like 9 hour) film: Lol

Human Lipsynch assignment : The dialogue is from hellboy.

Zombie Dad returns. This one has a dub of the characters voices overtop. I do all the voices but the 2 kids during the PoV pan.

This week is more character designing, which will get uploaded. And then it's on to Animation. This time it'll be good... PROMISE!!!

It seems I forgot how to blog

Sometimes I forget that process work is as nice to see as final projects. Here are some character designs I started today.
Both digital sketches were the first passes at the characters, cause I find it al lot easier to refine my big shapes on the computer.
First is an old Kookaburra. I want to emphasize how grumpy he is until you make him laugh.

Second is his contrasting partner, An old orangutan. On him I want him to look big and gentle. The two of them are actually friends. And the go with the flow nature of this big guy is the only way to make kooka laugh.

Finished model sheets prob won't be for a couple weeks, cause I have other projects I should work on. Peace out.
